Web design covers layouts, content hierarchy and user interaction. Web development turns the design into working code: theme, templates, content types, forms, performance, deployment and indexing setup. The two are often delivered by one team, which stops design and implementation blaming each other.

How is Hong Kong web development priced?

It depends on the number of pages and templates, whether custom content types are needed, form and third-party integrations, language versions, and whether migration and redirect mapping from an old site are included. You receive an itemised quote after the technical assessment.

How long does development take?

Theme and template development for a corporate site usually takes three to five weeks; with custom content types, a knowledge base or multilingual structures, six to ten weeks. The real variable is how quickly design is finalised and content is prepared.

Can you build from my existing design files?

Yes. As long as the files include desktop and mobile layouts, component states, and typography and colour specifications, development can start directly. Where annotations are insufficient, we agree the missing specifications first to avoid repeated confirmation during the build.

Can I maintain the site myself afterwards?

Yes. Admin content types and fields are designed around day-to-day operations, and written guidance plus deployment documentation is provided at handover. Updating content, publishing articles and adding services all happen without developer involvement.

Will rebuilding an old site hurt existing rankings?

Not if it is handled properly. Before the rebuild we list the old URLs, map each to its new page and set 301 permanent redirects, and update internal links and the sitemap. After launch we check for broken URLs and indexing changes to avoid a traffic gap.
