Website Maintenance & Redesign Hong Kong

Launch is not the finish line. Updates, backups, security, speed and layout revisions need to happen on a schedule, or a site quietly stops working.

What does website maintenance and redesign cover?

Website maintenance and redesign is ongoing technical care plus layout updates for a live site: core and plugin updates, backups and restores, security monitoring, speed work, content and layout changes, and restructuring the information architecture when the business changes. It is not about fixing a site once it breaks, but about stopping it from slowing down, being compromised, throwing errors, or falling behind when the business moves on.

Website Maintenance & Redesign Hong Kong — service diagram

Keep the website stable after launch

Maintenance can cover updates, backups, security reviews, content work and form tests. When an issue appears, we confirm the impact, resolve it and recheck the main journeys.

Protect search value during a redesign

Existing pages, URLs, content and traffic are audited first. Valuable URLs stay in place where possible; necessary changes receive permanent redirects and post-launch index checks.

01 / Scope

What does website maintenance and redesign include?

Six workstreams available as a monthly plan, or as a one-off fix when something specific is wrong.

01

Core and plugin updates

WordPress core, themes and plugins updated on a schedule, with compatibility checked on a staging copy first so the live site does not go down.

02

Backups and restore drills

Off-site backup schedules plus an actual restore rehearsal, so you know recovery works rather than just assuming a file exists.

03

Security monitoring and patching

Failed logins, file changes and known vulnerabilities reviewed; suspicious code removed and access hardened.

04

Speed and performance work

Image sizing, caching, database bloat and asset loading handled to improve LCP and overall response time.

05

Content and layout changes

Images swapped, service details updated, pages added and layout details adjusted, without renegotiating a design project each time.

06

Redesign and restructuring

When the business or services change, navigation, page hierarchy and content are reorganised while keeping existing URLs and accumulated search performance.

02 / What is included

Every care plan includes

These are standard scope, not paid add-ons. Frequency depends on the plan level.

  • Core, theme and plugin updates
  • Off-site backup schedule
  • Tested restore procedure
  • Security scanning and triage
  • Monthly status report
  • Speed and performance review
  • Database cleanup and optimisation
  • Error page and broken link checks
  • Minor content and layout edits
  • Priority technical support

03 / Delivery process

Maintenance and redesign process

We start with a health check, establish what can be saved, then decide between maintenance and a redesign.

Health check

Core version, plugin health, backup status, speed and security exposure.

Risk triage

What must be fixed now, what can be scheduled, and what only needs watching.

Baseline

Backups and a restore test completed so there is a known-good state to return to.

Ongoing maintenance

Updates, backups, security checks and performance monitoring on schedule.

Redesign assessment

If the current structure no longer fits the business, we scope a redesign that keeps the content.

Redesign and review

Layout and structure changes go live, then traffic and indexing are monitored and adjusted.

04 / Ways to work together

How can we work together?

Monthly care plan

Updates, backups, security and performance handled monthly. Suits companies treating the site as a long-term asset.

One-off fixes

Sudden problems such as slowdowns, malware or broken layouts diagnosed and resolved per incident.

Structural redesign

Navigation, hierarchy and layout reworked while keeping existing content and URLs. Suits sites whose business has moved on.

05 / Why Jionghui

Four things to check in a service provider

01

Our backups get restored

Claiming a backup exists means nothing. We walk through the restore so files and database are both proven to come back.

02

We test before updating

Updates are the most common cause of a site going down. Larger version jumps are verified on staging before touching the live site.

03

A redesign is not a reset

Anything that can be kept is kept. We do not wipe a site to make the redesign easier.

04

You see what was done

A monthly report lists what was handled, what was found and what we recommend next, rather than an unexplained invoice.

07 / FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How often should a site be maintained?
Updates and backups are typically monthly, with security scanning and performance checks on the same cadence. Higher-traffic sites or those running e-commerce and memberships should move to weekly. We recommend a frequency based on the health check findings.
How is maintenance priced?
It depends on site size in pages and posts, whether e-commerce or membership features are involved, the number of languages, the update frequency, and how much content and layout editing is included. We quote after a health check rather than hiding everything behind one vague monthly figure.
What happens if a site is never maintained?
The common outcomes are exploited plugin vulnerabilities, defacement or redirects, a bloated database that slows the site down, and an obsolete PHP version that whitescreens the whole site. These tend to hit indexing and enquiries all at once, and cost far more to fix than routine care.
Will a redesign hurt existing search rankings?
Not if it is done properly. We preserve the existing URL structure wherever possible, set 301 redirects where URLs must change, and keep the existing content and key pages, so rankings are not reset.
Can I commission a redesign without a care plan?
Yes, they are separate services. We do recommend at least basic updates and backups afterwards, otherwise a newly redesigned site quickly returns to an unmanaged state.
The site has already been hacked. Can you help?
Yes. We isolate and remove the malicious code, confirm the back door is fully cleared, patch the vulnerability that was used, then help rotate credentials and harden access. If the damage is extensive, we recommend rebuilding while keeping the content.

When was your site last updated?

Send us the URL and we will run a health check first, listing the backup, security, speed and version items that need attention, before deciding between maintenance and a redesign.
